offshore holdings. After analyzing their current needs, JLJ recommended
that the client establish a representative office to engage in
marketing and business development activities in China. In addition,
JLJ assisted the client in developing an effective HR management
system.
The client initially set up a representative office,
designed an HR system compliant with Chinese labor laws, and recruited
key staff with JLJ’s assistance. They later increased their commitment
to the China market by restructuring into a Wholly Foreign Owned
Enterprise (WFOE), again through JLJ.
