Market Research & Consulting
Market Scan for Potential Customers & Meeting Setup
| Client |
A leading European player in industrial automation |
| Objective(s) |
Scan the market for potential customers and to set up meetings for our client. |
| Project |
Our team faced two key challenges for this project. First, the services provided by our client are very technical and the market still very niche in China; as a result, our team had to learn how to make "technical sales calls" in a very short time. Second, setting up meetings with potential customers is generally much more challenging than with potential suppliers, especially considering that the target customers were multinational companies with multiple manufacturing locations in China. Despite the challenges, our team was able to set up 12 high-quality meetings with potential customers, with about 75% ending up in follow-up discussions.
The success of this project was based on a combination of "doing the right things" and "doing things right". Our team asked the right questions, understood the client's expectations and desired target from the start, fully leveraged the JLJ network to reach key decision makers, and worked very hard to achieve project objectives.

We conducted a comprehensive regulatory environment analysis to understand all trade mechanisms and possible scenarios and an in-depth feasibility study for creating a Distribution Center in China. As part of the feasibility study, we also developed a sophisticated economic model to estimate the overall cost for establishing and operating the distribution center and assess its economic viability. Through our study, our client was able to identify an ideal legal setup option and develop the optimal business model for their China distribution center.
